Holmes Cancer Resource Center

The Holmes Cancer Resource Center is located in the main lobby of Sparrow Herbert-Herman Cancer Center in Lansing, Michigan. Sparrow Health System and American Cancer Society provide trained Volunteers to assist Patients in cancer support resources. Our Volunteers provide Patients and their families with information on cancer types, cancer treatments, cancer screenings, and cancer support organizations. Reach to Recovery

Reach to Recovery is a comprehensive one-on-one visitation program for women with breast cancer. Breast cancer survivors share their experiences with breast cancer and provide support rather than medical advice.

Road to Recovery

Road to Recovery is a Volunteer driver program. By calling 24 hours in advance, Patients can receive rides from Volunteers to cancer-related treatments, doctor appointments, and cancer-related screenings. 

FYI Resource Center
Patients can borrow from a library of books, posters, videos, and brochures on cancer-related topics available to the layman. The FYI Resource Center is located at 1755 Abbey Road in East Lansing, Michigan, and staffed by knowledgeable Volunteers. It is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Cancer Response System
By dialing 1.800.ACS.2345 (1.800.227.2345), callers are connected with a database of the most up-to-date cancer information serving the entire United States. Callers can request mailed or faxed comprehensive materials free of charge with the Cancer Response System.

Man to Man
Man to Man is a comprehensive one-on-one visitation program for men with prostate cancer. Prostate cancer survivors share their experiences with prostate cancer and provide support rather than medical advice.

MSU Student Cancer Support Network
Michigan State University offers a support network for MSU students with a personal history of cancer or those who have a family member or friend with cancer. The network consists of informal social gatherings once a month and facilitated support group meetings twice a month. Students are able to cope with cancer through the meetings as well as learning about other resources that exist on campus for the cancer Patient. Meetings are held at the MSU Union.
